Artist's Description
Panoramic view near the edge of flat top Doe Mountain as the sun sets on a stormy day. It was raining lightly when I took this photo and the air was misty so when the sun broke out through a thin opening between the clouds and horizon, the atmosphere seemed to glow, a rainbow formed, and the red rock cliffs lit up. I had been waiting there in the rain for about an hour, hoping that the sun would break out through that thin sliver of open sky--I was happy I waited! One of my favorite places, Doe Mountain is located in Arizona's Red Rock Country, near Sedona.

Bill Caldwell has always loved hiking and the outdoors so his artistic photography is based in the natural world--landscapes, seascapes, and macro/close-ups of flowers, leaves, rocks, and driftwood, as well as abstracts created from his macro images. After earning his BA degree in industrial and scientific photography in 1978, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) navigator. Now he's pursuing his lifelong love of landscape and artistic photography along with his enduring interest in spirituality including certification in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET).
