A Pinyon Pine grows out of the red rocks at the top of Doe Mountain as storm clouds start rolling in late in the day. I liked the look of this tree and the way it was perched on the edge of the cliff so I had to take a photo. One of my favorite places, Doe Mountain is located in Arizona's Red Rock Country, near Sedona. Digitally manipulated for a painterly/artistic effect. Bill Caldwell has always loved hiking and the outdoors so his artistic photography is based in the natural world--landscapes, seascapes, and macro/close-ups of flowers, leaves, rocks, and driftwood, as well as abstracts created from his macro images. After earning his BA degree in industrial and scientific photography in 1978, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) navigator. Now he's pursuing his lifelong love of landscape and artistic photography along with his enduring interest in spirituality including certification in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET). Although he's a bit of a nomad, he currently lives with his wife on the Oregon coast and he's amazed at the stunning beauty of the area as well as...
