Digitally enhanced macro of brain coral in shades of blue and cyan, with accents in green and pink. I had this underwater photo of some brain coral that included a large section of the coral head. After working on it for awhile I still wasn't happy with the results, but when I magnified the image to look at very small parts of it, I really liked the abstract patterns I was seeing. So I cropped in on a small section of the image to make this series of abstracts in four color variations. Digitally manipulated for a painterly/artistic effect. Bill Caldwell has always loved hiking and the outdoors so his artistic photography is based in the natural world--landscapes, seascapes, and macro/close-ups of flowers, leaves, rocks, and driftwood, as well as abstracts created from his macro images. After earning his BA degree in industrial and scientific photography in 1978, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) navigator. Now he's pursuing his lifelong love of landscape and artistic photography along with his enduring interest in spirituality including certification in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET).
